In previous years, depending on flight times, we have been able to accommodate ground transportation for trainers arriving and departing via St. John’s International Airport. Those who are flying and seeking ground transport through ASIST NL, would need to arrive at St. John’s airport no later than 3:00pm on Thursday, October 3rd and have a domestic flight scheduled to leave from St. John’s airport no earlier than 5:00pm on Sunday, October 6th. Arrivals and Departures in line with these time frames and notification of your itinerary to the Conference Committee by September 18th are required to ensure the Conference Committee can accommodate your request.
Similarly, if you are attending the pre-conference and require ground transportation, you would need to arrive at St. John’s International Airport no later than 5:00pm on Wednesday Oct 2nd.
This year's conference theme is
"ASIST NL: Where there’s a Glimmer, there’s Hope”, reflecting suggestions at last year's conference. Glimmers refer to those tiny, micro-moments of joy that elicit a rush of happiness, gratitude, calm, peace, safety, or goodwill. In interventions, in our workshops, and in the ASIST NL conference, we see and experience glimmers creating hope that living, works.
The location of the conference is The Clarenville Inn which is a 2-hour drive, west of St. John’s. This year’s conference will take place from registration at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 3rd to 12:30pm on Sunday, October 6th at a cost of $625.00 CAD per person including accommodation for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and meals and coffee breaks from breakfast on Friday to breakfast on Sunday. This year, we are offering a shared room rate of $450 CAD each, for trainers who coordinate room sharing with another trainer for the conference. These reasonable rates are thanks to the combined financial support of ASISTNL and the LivingWorks Regional Network Grant. The deadline to register is September 18, 2024.
